Not every groom wants to be centre stage, but that doesn’t mean they can’t look confident and stylish. This shoot is all about showing that calm presence can still make an impact. Think whiskey in hand, jacket thrown over the shoulder, and a strong, composed look with just a little bit of drama.

The Redwood Bar at the Vermont Hotel gave us a setting with real character. Dark wood, leather seating, low light, and vintage decor set the tone for images that feel sharp, masculine, and effortless.
Simple, Natural Posing That Works
Posing for photos doesn’t have to mean doing a lot. A few small adjustments like standing straighter, relaxing the shoulders, and softening the hands can make a huge difference. These photos show that it’s less about "posing" and more about good posture and awareness.

For Grooms Who Don’t Love the Camera
Most grooms don’t spend much time being photographed, and that’s completely normal. The key is not to overthink it. Good direction helps avoid stiff poses or awkward smiles. It’s about standing in the right spot, holding a glass, shifting weight from one foot to the other, and keeping it easy and natural. The key is in the guidance that the photographer will give.

The Style is in the Details
Sharp photos start with great styling, but it’s how the groom wears the suit that brings it to life. We kept everything structured but relaxed. An open jacket, whiskey in hand helped the photos feel more real and less like a catalogue.

Final Note
This approach I took focuses on making the groom feel comfortable in the space and giving enough direction to bring out a strong, self-assured look. No over-styling. Just photos that feel elevated and confident without the pressure.
With Love,
